N1 - Funding Information:
The authors would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Ángel Moreno-Fuentes (Mycoteca, from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, Hidalgo state, Mexico) for the loan of dried Tylopilus type material. We are grateful to L. Márquez and N. López (LaNaBio from the Instituto de Biología of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) for sequencing. Thanks also to B. Mendoza (LaNaBio from the Instituto de Biología of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) for taking the photographs under the scanning electron microscope. Funding was provided by CONACYT PN 2015–207. This research was supported by PAPIIT IN223218 project. EC Rodríguez-Ramírez also wishes to thanks Brenda Muñoz Vazquez for her love and assistance with fieldwork each year. We also thank the two anonymous reviewers for their corrections and suggestions to improve our work.

N2 - Tylopilus hayatae Rodríguez-Ramírez & Luna-Vega, sp. nov., is an ectomycorrhizal fungus found in relict Mexican beech forest (Fagus grandifolia subsp. mexicana) in the mountains of Hidalgo State, Sierra Madre Oriental, in eastern Mexico. We propose this new species based on morphological and molecular data evidence. Macro- and microscopic descriptions including illustrations, photographs and scanning electron micrographs of the basidiospores are presented.
