This paper, developed under the hermeneutic- documentary method, aims to analyze the conditions in which the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is developed in current academic contexts. The purpose of this is to apply the pertinent corrections, with a view to improving the use of ICT in the generation of academic knowledge, which implies a challenge for educational institutions in Latin America. The work is developed from an interdisciplinary perspective, with a marked humanistic reflection; therefore, it is not intended to establish a definitive position, but rather to promote critical debate on the social relevance of ICTs in the current context.
