Resumen
Secondary education in developing countries has undergone significant changes and transformations with COVID-19, going from being a face-to-face activity to a virtual one, without mediating any adaptation and conditioning processes, which has called into question teaching performance and educational quality at all levels. From this perspective, the article’s objective was to determine the perception that high school students from academic institutions of the Puno Local Educational Management Unit have about teaching performance and educational quality in times of COVID-19. The hypothetical-deductive method was used, with a quantitative approach and a descriptive correlational cross-sectional design. The population was 9.019 students, selecting a sample of 189 students. The results show that the teaching performance was good (69,70%) and the educational quality regular (54,00%), that there is a moderate and significant correlation between both variables; as well as between the dimensions of teaching performance: Personal, institutional, interpersonal, didactic and values with educational quality. It is concluded that the student perceives that the teacher contributes with their performance to achieve educational quality, aiming to help or facilitate the apprehension of the basic principles of a dignified life, of respect, rights and duties contributing their performance to educational quality.
