Resumen
In this article, it is argued that the local symbolic elites legitimize their power within the framework of the anniversary of the Spanish foundation of the city of Arequipa from a discursive representation that privileges the arequipenian over the non-arequipenian. This discourse is manifested through the strategic use of linguistic resources at the macro and microtextual level that facilitate their reproduction at the level of linear coherence (sentences), global (text) and local coherence (paragraphs) present in participation rules of the Corso de la Amistad 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. This discursive representation activates social affections that oscillate between appreciation for the endogroup's own and rejection of the exogroup's expressions.
