Implementation of a Process Management System for the Standardization of Ready-Mix Concrete: Machine Learning Analysis for Predictive Quality Control- PISAC Huancayo Case

Producción científica: Libro o Capítulo del libro Contribución a la conferenciarevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

This study evaluates the impact of implementing a process man-
agement system on the standardization of ready-mix concrete at
PISAC in Huancayo, Peru. Using an experimental design with
control and experimental groups, properties such as workability,
entrained air, bleeding, and compressive strength were evaluated.
The implementation was structured into phases of diagnosis, pro-
cess design, and evaluation using standardized tests. The results
showed significant reductions in variability: 81.8% in workability,
73.7% in entrained air, 76.2% in bleeding, and 19.6% in compressive
strength, in addition to a 1.85% increase in mean 28-day strength.
These improvements exceed those typically reported in similar
studies, possibly due to the ”base effect,” where organizations with
basic management experience more dramatic improvements. It is
concluded that process management is effective in standardizing
ready-mix concrete in challenging contexts, contributing to a more
predictable construction industry.
