Resumen
Violence is a phenomenon that has repercussions in society. It is mostly associated to women, but men also suffer from it. Because of this, the research’s objective was to carry out a systematic review about the factors associated to men who are victims of violence in hands of their partners. A total of 45 articles were selected from databases such as Researchgate, Redalyc, PubMed Central, SAGE Journals, ProQuest, Dialnet, EBSCO, Scielo, ScienceDirect, REDIB, Medigraphic and InfoMED. Each of them was categorized in sections such as: Factors associated with violence against men, its modalities, its barriers, the type of relationship between the victim and the victimizer, country, language, the sample and conclusions. About the violence that could occur in a couple, based on the analysis, it was possible to conclude that low levels of self-esteem and emotional dependence, having suffered intra-family violence, a low salary, male gender roles, invisibilization and stereotypes are the most prevalent factors found in men who suffer violence.
