Hermeneutics-Based Educational Module for Developing Critical Thinking in Peruvian University Students

This research aimed to determine the influence of implementing the Hermeneutics Educational Module on the development of critical thinking in Communication Sciences students at a university in Huancayo. This study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design to examine the impact of a hermeneutics-based educational module on critical thinking in 28 Communication Sciences students. The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal was employed as the data collection instrument, administered during both pretest and posttest phases. The results demonstrated that prior to the intervention, 100% of students exhibited a low level of critical thinking, with a mean score of 34.64. However, following the application of the module, 53.6% of participants reached a medium level, with the mean score increasing to 45.07. The research concludes that the implementation of the Hermeneutics Educational Module significantly influenced the development of critical thinking among participants, confirming that hermeneutic practice contributes to the strengthening of critical thinking skills.
