Resumen

Interpret meteorological behavior in the face of changing extreme weather events, such as extreme rainfall, cold and heat waves and prolonged droughts. The problems are recurrent and the data presented by the meteorological stations are essential to avoid the collapse of hydraulic and infrastructure works. Therefore, the objective of this research is to generate curves of intensity, duration and frequency “IDF” of intense precipitations in a meteorological station located at 3186 m.a.s.l. in the period from 2000 to 2022. The data analysis was done with the Viques weather station, in the province of Huancayo, Junín, Peru; to meet the objective it was necessary to find the probabilistic values, which are necessary to perform the Gumbel method, after performing the mathematical processes for the return periods, the data was determined in relation to the intensity, duration and frequency. With return periods of 2, 5, 10, 25, 25, 50, 100 and 500 years and with time periods of 5 min established in 1 h; the relationship of the IDF curves shows that for a precipitation event with an intensity of 70.60 mm/h and a duration of 30 min, it occurs once every 5 years, allowing this methodology to predict precipitation events that are very complex to estimate and facilitating interpretation.
