Resumen
Domestic violence rates have increased among adolescents in recent years. They were studied in the context of the factors associated with adolescents' perceptions of four types of domestic violence, namely, verbal, psychological, physical, and sexual, in Honduras during the first half of 2020. A cross-sectional analytical study of the 3272 young people surveyed indicated that verbal violence was associated with a basic educational level and alcohol consumption. Other factors included father, mother or siblings who had suffered violence at home. Focusing on psychological violence, the father, mother or siblings had suffered domestic violence. Basic education was a factor in physical violence, level, the father, mother or siblings had suffered violence at home. Sexual violence was associated with drug use in the last six months. Traumatic events such as violence could have long-term effects on adolescents' psychosocial development, hence the importance of being able to diagnose and address them.
