Resumen

Introduction: The post-COVID-19 sequelae were and still are a problem among some, for example, workers. Objective: To determine the factors associated with the immediate symptomatic sequelae of COVID-19 in Peruvian workers. Material and Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study. Through a virtual survey, workers from ten work areas were recruited, especially those who worked in the central Peruvian highlands. The immediate sequelae that occurred after suffering from COVID-19 were characterized, these were described and then the association was sought according to the item and other variables. Results: Of the 1004 workers surveyed, in the multivariate models, the loss of smell was associated with the industrial sector (p=0.008) and education (p=0.028). The loss of taste was associated with the independent and food sector (p=0.005) and other. Having had fatigue was associated with the independent sector (p=0.036), construction (p=0.001), health (p=0.047), education (p=0.044) and culture/sports (p=0.025). Having had chest pain was associated with the food sector (p=0.001). Having had hair loss was associated with the health sector (p=0.013). Having had joint pain was associated with culture/sports (p=0.007), construction (p=0.034) and food sector (p=0.014). Many of these sequelae were associated with having been hospitalized or having arrived at the intensive care unit and with sex. Discussion: Many associations of the different sequelae with different occupational groups were found. This is the first situational analysis of an occupational population in the interior of Peru, which should serve to search for current persistent sequelae, to generate recovery programs.
