Producción científica: Artículo CientíficoArtículo de revisiónrevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged traditional teaching methods at all educational levels, and physical education (PE) has been no exception. With social distancing restrictions and school closures, educators have been forced to adapt to virtual teaching to keep learning moving. In this context, virtual PE teaching becomes a new and exciting terrain, requiring creativity, flexibility and adaptability on the part of teachers. The objective of this study was to analyze in depth the virtual teaching of Physical Education during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the challenges, advantages, obstacles and didactic characteristics of virtual PE teaching. This study constitutes a systematic review bibliographic research. To carry out the search and selection of relevant articles, the PRISMA methodology was applied. It has focused on the Scopus and Web of Science databases to identify a set of 32 relevant articles that address the specific topic in the period between 2020 and 2024. The results indicate that PE during the COVID-19 pandemic faced significant challenges and revealed both advantages and obstacles in the transition to distance learning environments. Creative adaptation and effective use of emerging technologies were key to mitigating some of these challenges, although urgent needs remain to improve equitable access and direct interaction in physical learning.
