Resumen
Social confinement and social distancing measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced students and teachers to migrate from an in-person to a virtual model, which brought various challenges for students. This study was conducted to understand the difficulties faced by students of the Faculty of Sociology at the National University of Central Peru (UNCP) in their virtual education experience in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodological approach is quantitative, with a non-experimental cross-descriptive design; the sample consisted of 216 students who were administered a questionnaire. The results show that the majority of students (72.2%) consider that during the context of COVID-19 they faced various difficulties of a socio-familial (67.6%), technological (70.8%), and economic (63%). It is concluded by demonstrating that socio-familial, technological, and economic difficulties combined to create a challenging environment that impacted the educational experience of students during the pandemic. This situation reflects the need to implement comprehensive strategies to promote more equitable and resilient education in the face of future crises.
