Resumen
This project is a progressive effort to incorporate state-of-the-art technology in the mining industry to ensure worker safety, protection, and productivity. This project proposes creating and commissioning an independent robot that can identify, collect, and examine toxic gases in underground mines using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The research objectives are to carry out a proof of concept for developing a robot that captures toxic gases in mines, such as methane, sulfur hydride, and carbon monoxide, among others that can be fatal for miners. For them, methods such as double diamond were applied together with DQP and CEA that helped in the identification of the problematic situation of the research, as well as organizers of ideas and morphological matrix for the validation of the development and implementation of the toxic gas capture robot in closed pit mines. Similarly, mechanical design software was used to design the concept of robot mechanics. In conclusion, this project leads to validation to transform worker safety in the mining industry by implementing sophisticated technologies such as IoT and robotics.
