Resumen
At present the percentage of people suffering from type II diabetes mellitus continues to increase. One of the consequences of this disease is the reduction of blood flow in the feet and legs, which could hinder the healing of a sore, in such a way that if a patient with this condition is not treated in time, gangrene can be generated, which could cause the amputation of the first toe, this would affect the gait process, which will not be carried out properly. There are foot prostheses focused on the functionality of the first toe; however, there are no prostheses focused on the specific design of the big toe. Therefore, this work aims to design a prosthesis for the first toe capable of improving gait, likewise a finite element analysis was carried out to ensure that the proposed design is capable of resisting up to a certain body weight. After carrying out the finite element analysis, the maximum and minimum values of displacement and equivalent force are observed with respect to the external forces to which the designed part is subjected.
