The overall aim of the study was to determine the relationship between research training and scientific production of teachers at a private university in Lima. In this sense, the variables were research training and scientific production, and the dimensions defined were research training, research skills and research activity. The study had a quantitative approach, was basic, with a correlational level and non-expe-rimental design. The population consisted of 246 teachers from a private university in Lima. A non-probabilistic purposive sampling was carried out, and 29 teachers from the industrial engineering career of a private university in Lima were chosen. The technique used was the survey and the instrument was the questionnaire, which consisted of 32 questions related to the variables and their dimensions, all questions with five response alternatives, through a Likert-type scale. The analysis of the results was developed from the descriptive and inferential point of view, firstly, with the calculation of absolute and relative frequencies, secondly, through the calculation of correlation coefficients between variables and dimensions, by means of Spearman’s Rho statistic. Finally, the respective conclusions were drawn.
