Resumen

The rise in cybercrime has led to a growing need for more cyber security professionals. The information and communications technology industry has grown, and the education sector has tried to meet the demand. However, despite the importance of the topic, the scientific literature still reflects knowledge gaps in terms of the lack of literature reviews. Therefore, the objective of this research was to examine the research trends in cyber security dynamics among women based on a bibliometric analysis. Among the main findings, the growing debate since 2014 on the role of women in computing, both as users and professionals, stands out. From 2021, an exponential growth is observed, possibly related to the valorization of women in STEM fields and the sector’s need for more cyber security professionals. Various American authors have analyzed cyber security from an economic, social, and psychological perspective, focusing on women’s participation and professionalization in the field.
