Resumen
In recent years, attention has been paid to health and wellness in buildings, as people spend most of their time at work and in their homes. In that context the WELL Building Standard has emerged as a key solution to promote health and wellness. However, there is a lack of knowledge in developing countries about its implementation. That is why the objective of the following article is to analyze the adoption of the WELL Building Standard in South America and to evaluate the number of projects in this region. For this purpose, the projects in the WELL Building Standard database are evaluated. After initial review 310 projects are identified and finally fifteen projects certified were identified in South America, of which twelve are in Brazil and the rest are in Peru, Chile and Colombia. In addition, in South America the majority of certified projects have obtained the platinum level with nine certified projects, the gold level with four projects and the silver level with two projects. The following research will be a contribution for professionals and academics who wish to implement the WELL Building Standard.
