"I am a surgeon graduated from the National University of San Marcos, where I graduated in the top fifth of my class. I completed a specialty in Infectious and Tropical Diseases and a Master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, which allowed me to integrate clinical practice with research and teaching. In the management field, I served as General Director of Strategic Interventions in Public Health at the Peruvian Ministry of Health, leading the response to epidemics such as COVID-19 and dengue. I am currently the coordinator of vector-borne diseases and zoonoses at the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, where I also lead the training of physicians specializing in infectious diseases. In the academic field, I lead training in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at Continental University, promoting an innovative teaching model that links clinical practice, research, and public health. I also advise approximately 10 undergraduate theses in medicine and have taught at the Cayetano Heredia University of Peru and the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. I am the medical director of INMENSA (Medical Research in Health), an institution that began its work in the comprehensive management of people with HIV and is currently expanding its services to include comorbidities and vaccination. Internationally, I have been a principal investigator in the HPTN, HVTN, ACTG, and CIPRA networks, in addition to collaborating with the Latin American HIV Network, which has allowed me to contribute to publications in high-impact journals and strengthen clinical research in the region.
