Abstract

Over the years, the challenges and threats in the business world have increased due to continuous environmental changes. Companies use technological surveillance to select the most suitable methodology for an automation 4.0 project. Therefore, this article will document a literature review of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, and Kanban in automation 4.0 projects. The objective is to provide the researcher with a matrix integrating the most used methodologies for technological surveillance and Industry 4.0 technologies in different industry sectors and countries. As a method, it used other databases and specialized search engines that helped collect research from 2018 to 2024. Filtering and selecting the reviewed studies were carried out, leaving 41 selected. Finally, it is concluded that integrating project management methodologies and 4.0 technology significantly impacts operational, systemic, and customer service levels, among other areas, worldwide in different sectors.
