Abstract

Resumen- Metal-mechanical companies, driven by the need to remain competitive, resort to implementing the Lean Manufacturing (LM) methodology in the supply chain, seeking to increase productivity and optimize processes. This article identifies and analyzes the benefits and limitations of applying LM tools.A systematic literature review was carried out between 2013 to 2023, using the PICO strategy and prism method to formulate the main question and four additional questions for developing the RSL.25 articles were collected using the exclusion and inclusion criteria of the Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE, Science Direct, and Emerald databases. The results of implementing LM were a 40% increase in productivity and 5% less waste in the processes. It is concluded that Lean Manufacturing tools which are Lean Six Sigma, 5S, JIT, PDCA, Kanban, and TPM, seek to eliminate waste and improve efficiency and productivity in the supply chain.
