Abstract

The main objective of this research study is to assess the effect of the application of the self-training manual Edafoambiente in the learning of the soil science subject among students at an intercultural university. The methodology is quantitative, with a quasi-experimental design, and a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. An objective test and a checklist are constructed. The sample consists of 56 students divided into groups (control and experimental) of 28 students each. The results show significant differences between both groups in the learning of the subject of soil science. Fourteen percent of the experimental group is at the regular level while 86% is at the good level. In contrast, 46% of the control group is at the regular level while 54% is at the good level. In conclusion, the application of the self-training manual Edafoambiente helps to improve the learning of the subject of soil science among students of an intercultural university.
