Abstract

The incursion of the internet and information and communication technologies have generated various changes in society, which is why they have come to have a leading role in mediating development, their absence being a sign of underdevelopment. Due to this need, the present work is oriented to analyze the Information Technologies in Peru with the purpose of determining the access to Internet and existing digital gap in this particular. Qualitative, documentary study. Among the main results, adolescents and young people have the highest access to the internet (80.5%) and that the mobile device was the most used resource for this purpose (81.0%). Finally, it is concluded to become aware of the digital gap between the different sectors of Peru, in addition to urging a change in the proportion of telecommunications infrastructure and internet access facilities in the country.
