Abstract

In the daily operations of the Antapaccay Mining Unit's concentrator plant, the knowledge gained at the university is applied to address challenges. The proposed engineering solution focuses on enhancing the maintenance of the Wet Screen. The effectiveness of the approach is substantiated through detailed simulations, supported calculations, and a cost-benefit analysis. The current maintenance time, standing at approximately 32 hours, is significantly reduced to 21 hours with the implementation of the moving and lifting system. This reduction accounts for a noteworthy 30%, equivalent to approximately 285,000 in economic savings. Redirecting these savings can contribute to improving other equipment and components within the concentrator plant. In the review of the scientific article, the significance of planning maintenance work through the utilization of a Gantt chart is emphasized, emphasizing the identification of resources and the establishment of intervention times. Furthermore, the study validates the robustness of the existing frame structure in supporting proposed changes within the moving and lifting systems, as confirmed by the simulations conducted. Mechanical Engineering colleagues are urged to contribute additional enhancements, such as suggesting the implementation of fixed platforms, davit cranes, and new piping routes. This approach is grounded in adherence to the regulations outlined in the Peruvian Technical Standard, deemed essential for the development and justification of maintenance projects, improvements, and new installations across the country.
