Abstract

Worldwide, in works where earthmoving deliverables are predominant, heavy machinery represents between 20-50% of the total operating cost, so optimizing the processes that involve its use in this type of construction work becomes necessary. Unfortunately, there are few analytical methodologies for the sizing of the equipment to perform these works. For this reason, this article aims to develop a mathematical model capable of optimizing the costs incurred when determining the type and quantity of compactors, relying on linear programming. The whole process is developed through the application of the case study in a Highway project in Perú.
