Abstract
The intention of this research work, aimed at conducting a systematic review, is to examine how using various tools provided by the Lean Manufacturing philosophy affects productivity rates in companies within the textile sector. The methodology employed involves a comprehensive analysis and a clear presentation of information gathered from scientific studies, utilizing various digital information sources such as Scopus, Scielo, and Web of Science. After an exhaustive search, 124 articles were identified, out of which 32 were selected for this review, applying inclusion/exclusion criteria and considering open access availability. Using R bibliometrics, the current state of research was analyzed. This study identified the following key findings: (1) The current state of existing research in academic studies on the implementation of LM in the textile industry is examined. (2) A table of the most commonly used tools of the LM philosophy in the textile industry is compiled. (3) It is concluded that adopting LM in textile companies leads to substantial improvements in productivity. Various studies indicate that implementing engineering approaches, such as Lean Manufacturing, results in waste minimization, capacity expansion, and reduced lead times. These positive impacts significantly enhance the quality of products produced by these companies. This study is anticipated to serve as a foundation for future relevant research in this area.
