Abstract
This article examines the evolution and development of labor citizenship in the context of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR). Based on the concept of labor citizenship, understood as the set of rights and duties of workers within a regional economic space, the article analyzes the implementation of regulatory frameworks that guarantee free labor mobility and the protection of fundamental rights, such as equal treatment, nondiscrimination, and access to social security. The article explores the different categories of migrant workers and the regulations that allow their integration into the labor markets of the respective member countries. The article also addresses the challenges related to the implementation of coherent labor policies in the integrated regions and the tensions arising from migratory flows. For the development of the above, the research presented is qualitative, using descriptive and comparative normative work methods, using bibliographic and documentary research techniques. In conclusion, the article affirms the need to strengthen regional integration mechanisms to ensure the full effectiveness of labor citizenship and promote greater social and economic cohesion among member states.
