Abstract
This study was based on the analysis of research skills in teachers at a Peruvian public university and their impact on the development of intellectual production. The variables were: research skills and intellectual production, from which the respective dimensions were defined. For research skills, the following dimensions were defined: observe, describe, analyze, synthesize and interpret. In the case of intellectual production, the dimensions were: intellectual activity and researcher profile. The methodological scope was established considering that the study was of a basic type, with a quantitative approach, nonexperimental design and transactional correlational level. The population consisted of 30 teachers from the administration career of a Peruvian public university. The instrument used to collect the information was a questionnaire, constructed with 32 questions referring to variables and dimensions; each question had 5 response options, using a Likert scale. The descriptive analysis reflected the absolute and relative frequencies of the variables and dimensions. The inferential analysis made it possible to evaluate the normality of the data using the Shapiro-Wilk test and to calculate the correlation between the variables and dimensions using Spearman’s Rho test.
