Abstract

This systematic review analyzes the relationship between human resource management (HRM) strategies and talent retention in port administration, with a focus on Terminal Internacional del Sur (TISUR). Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 8, the study addresses the intersection between maritime operations and human capital management. Following the PRISMAmethodology, 40 articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (2006-2024) were selected under a qualitative approach with standardized evaluation criteria. The results demonstrate that the implementation of integrated talent management frameworks improves operational efficiency and reduces staff turnover. Five key dimensions were identified: strategic workforce planning, development of digital competencies, sustainability, diversity, and organizational governance. Training in environmental management increases the retention of specialized personnel, while gender equality initiatives enhance job satisfaction. This study contributes to theoretical and practical knowledge by proposing a conceptual framework that integrates digitalization, sustainability, and inclusive governance as essential pillars to strengthen port competitiveness through strategic talent management in global maritime environments.
