Abstract
Conventionally, native Peruvian rocotos have a great diversity in terms of color, size, and shape, with red, orange, and green rocotos standing out. Also, their method for the selection process of this product is labor-intensive, bringing with it more costly productivity, the risk to the consumer's health, and uncertain reliability. Therefore, this research presents the design of an automated system for the rocoto grading process taking into account 2 main parameters: size and color. The system uses mechanisms for reading information through an HMI interface, which allows monitoring and control from the panel, for this, a PLC controller is used as the brain of the whole system, and for the simulation of the entire system is used the software Tia portal, Factory IO and LabVIEW. As a result, the correct and complete operation of the rocoto selection process was obtained, thus concluding the viability of this system and the development of new research.
