Abstract

This research presents the design and control of a neural helmet for the treatment of people with dementia. The helmet design integrates sensors, electrodes, and advanced algorithms to record and stimulate brain activity that include person comfort, precise sensor placement, and safety. The development of the project enables the collection of data on brain activity and specific modulation of neural function. The control and design of the proposed system will provide improvement of cognitive function including memory, attention and executive function, in people with dementia.
