Abstract

The global implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) has led many countries to propose projects that adapt to the new trends because its application improves productivity and collaboration in projects. However, few studies focus on the implementation of BIM in the pedagogical field, as this is an essential field for the training of future professionals in the AEC industry. Therefore, the following study aims to propose a BIM competency-based curriculum for the Peruvian market. The research begins with an identification of BIM competencies for the Peruvian market, based on national BIM studies and continues with a literature review of curricula, where 20 international curricula were identified, based on which a competency-based curriculum adapting BIM is proposed for the Academic Professional School of Civil Engineering of the Universidad Continental. The following research will be a contribution both for professionals because it identifies the key competencies for BIM implementation in the Peruvian market and for academics who wish to implement BIM in their curricula.
