Abstract

The current norms in force in Colombia will be presented where animals are used in scientific experimentation and the main discernments that exist in the environment around the country. Rules are analyzed in which the elements that should be taken in these procedures are retaken; among these are: the National Statute for the Protection of Animals (Act 84 of 1989); the Scientific-Technical Standard for health research (Resolution 8430 of 1983) and the Code of Ethics for the professional practice of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry (Law 576 of 2000).
