Abstract

The construction industry has a dismal performance in terms of productivity, project cost overruns, and late deliveries. Lean Construction is an alternative to these problems and is spreading among professionals with positive benefits. Professionals with low knowledge of Lean tools and competencies is a high impact barrier to implementation in the world and in countries that are starting to adopt Lean, such is the case of Peru. This barrier delays the insertion of professionals in Lean projects, causing organizations to create learning plans, investing resources that are costly in relation to the project's timeframe, and many organizations abandon the implementation. This study seeks to diagnose Lean education in Peruvian universities, identify the gaps between the university-enterprise and propose a line of learning for educators. This study is part of a macro study to propose a roadmap for companies in Peru.
