Artificial Intelligence, the Neurons of the Robots: A Strategic Alternative for Peru

Research output: Chapter in Book/ReportConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) allows machines to learn from experience, adjust to new inputs, and perform tasks as humans do. Most of the examples of artificial intelligence you hear about today, from chess-playing computers to self-driving cars, rely heavily on deep learning and natural language processing. Using these technologies, computers can be trained to perform specific tasks by processing large amounts of data and recognizing patterns in the data. This research aims to prioritize and validate the leading technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution that impact Peru’s Vision 2050. This comprises three stages according to the methodology applied: (1) identification of technologies, (2) validation of technologies by experts, and (3) characterization of priority technologies. As a result, strategic alternatives were proposed to achieve the results of the axes of Peru’s vision for 2050 through science, technology, and innovation.
