Freedt Kilder Figueroa Balvin is a Mining Engineer with a Master’s degree in Geology, with solid
academic and professional training in mineral exploration, applied geology, and mining operations.
His main area of specialization is the prospecting, identification, and evaluation of strategic and
non-metallic mineral deposits, with particular interest in their geological controls, formation
processes, and economic potential.
He has professional experience in mining operations, including supervision of extraction processes,
safety and operational management, and technical consulting in non-metallic mining projects. His
work integrates geological interpretation with practical mining solutions, contributing to efficient
resource exploitation and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Currently, he serves as a faculty lecturer at Universidad Continental (UC), within the Faculty of
Mining Engineering, where he teaches courses related to mineralogy, petrology, geology, and
applied mining technologies. His teaching approach emphasizes the integration of theoretical
concepts with practical case studies, field experience, and the use of modern digital tools applied to
geosciences and mining engineering.
In parallel, he works as a Resident Engineer at V&V; Maquinarias S.A.C., a company dedicated to
the exploitation and processing of non-metallic minerals in the central region of Peru. In this role, he
is involved in operational supervision, geological assessment, and technical decision-making to
optimize production processes.
Additionally, he has participated in international scientific events and academic activities in Russia,
focused on mineral deposit formation processes, tectonic settings, and modern approaches to
economic geology. His professional interests include strategic mineral exploration, applied geology,
mining innovation, and the use of emerging technologies in mineral resource evaluation.
