Evelyng Peña Chávez is a geological engineer with a solid academic background and a
notable research career. She graduated from the National University of San
Antonio Abad del Cusco and has a master's degree in Environmental Geology from the
Complutense University of Madrid. She is currently a PhD candidate,
specializing in glaciology, speleology and geological risks.
Throughout her career, she has accumulated valuable experience in research,
mining, geology and hydrogeology projects. She has led research in
Antarctica and the glaciers of the Peruvian Andes, contributing significantly to the study of climate change. In addition, she completed a research stay at the prestigious Laboratoire National des Nucléides Cosmogéniques
(CEREGE) in France.
In the academic field, she works as a university professor and is the founder of
DINKASU, a company that merges science and entrepreneurship. Her work has been
recognized with important distinctions, such as the Order of Merit of the Peruvian
State in 2023 and the international award "Breaking Barriers" in 2024, awarded
by Nethuman and Global Compact Women Leaders.
She also has accreditations from key institutions such as the National Center
for Disaster Risk Estimation, Prevention and Reduction (CENEPRED), the
National Water Authority (ANA) and the Environmental Assessment and Oversight Agency
(OEFA). Currently, she is a researcher at the Geological and Mining Institute of
Spain (IGME), consolidating her position as a leader in environmental
geology and geological risks.
