Alfonso Gutiérrez Aguado is a doctor from the Federico Villarreal National University. With a Master's Degree in Public Health from the Faculty of Public Health and Administration of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He is a specialist in Health Management from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). He currently serves as the Lima-based Research Coordinator at the Continental University. He was Deputy Director of Health Intelligence of the CDC-MINSA, Budget Specialist of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). He is a member of the Peruvian Medical Society for Health Management, the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR PHARMACOECONOMICS AND OUTCOMES RESEARCH and the HEALTH SYSTEM RESEARCH. In 2011 he received the NATIONAL PRIZE FOR RESEARCH IN MEDICINE from the BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB Laboratory for the development of a Health Technology Assessment in the region. In 2012 he received the NATIONAL AWARD FOR RESEARCH CARRIED OUT BY RESIDENT DOCTORS from the National Committee of Resident Physicians of Peru for the development of an Economic Evaluation. In 2016, he received the NATIONAL MEDICAL RESEARCH AWARD from the Medical College of Peru. His most recent works are related to the establishment of economic evaluations, costs in Cancer (HPV vaccine) and interventions linked to the Budgetary Programs of the Health sector.
